Porter Alexander Cooper Jr. Porter Alexander Cooper Jr., 66 of Tulalip, Wash., passed away September 21, 2016 in Everett, Wash. He was born April 13, 1950, in Seattle, Washington to Porter and Camille Cooper. Porter worked as a logger for many years. He also worked on the USS Turner Joy in Bremerton, Wash. He worked at American Tug Boat Company. He is survived by his wife, LaVelle Cooper; five children, Porter Cooper III, Jason Cooper, Marcie Cooper, Colt Cooper, and Alexis Cooper; brothers, Johnny Cooper, Billy Gobin, Tony Gobin, Mike Gobin; sisters, Velda Gobin, Helen Gobin-Henson, Debra Posey, Rhonda Gobin; two special relatives, Sonny Dick, and Joe Henry; Glen and Lee Parks; numerous grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by father, Port (Donna) Cooper; his mother, Camille Broderson; and his other mother, Nonie Cooper; sisters, Kathy Cooper, Vicky Williams, and Susie Broderson. Services will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mission Beach Cemetery.

Johnny Jerome Gibson Jr., 37 of Tulalip, Wash. passed away September 5, 2016. He was born August 17, 1979, in Oroville, California to Johnny Gibson Sr. and Lawana Watson. He was a loving son, grandson, brother, father and uncle. He is survived by his father, Johnny Jerome Gibson Sr.; his mother, Lawana Watson; siblings, Janet, Keith, Elisha, Marisia, and Jared; his children, Jazlyn, Ckquoya, Quinton, and Eva; grandmother, LaVerne; and great grandmother, Gladys, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will held Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home.

Joseph Lee Harvey Sr., 38 of Tulalip, Wash. passed away August 26, 2016, in Everett, Washington. He was born March 17, 1978, in Everett to John and Joanne Harvey. Joseph was a commercial fisherman. Joseph also enjoyed carving, hunting, fishing, crabbing, Canoe journey, and liked making Dream Catchers. He is survived by his parents, John Harvey, and Joanne Nemecio and her husband, Francisco; brothers, John Harvey Jr., Tommy Harvey, Donald Harvey, Robert Williams, Josh Holland, and Jacob Harvey; sisters, Martha Langley, Kathy Harvey, Trina Harvey, and Harmony Holland; children, Vashti Williams, Veinece Williams, Kelsie Harvey, Jessie Harvey, Joe Harvey Jr., Evelyn Harvey, and Keira Harvey; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Romy and Nora Horne, and Ron and Violet Napoleon. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 1, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home with an Interfaith service to follow at 7:00 p.m. at the Tulalip Gym. Toribio “Toby” Marius Martin, 18, passed away August 19, 2016.

 

Toby was born May 26, 1998 in Seattle, Washington to Fermin “Cubby” Martin and Misty Hammontree. Toby was an enrolled member of Tlingit Native American Tribe. He enjoyed playing baseball and basketball.

 

He is survived by father, Fermin “Cubby” (Lena); his mother, Misty Hammontree; sisters, Monique (Charlie) and Midget (Ralph); brothers, Damien (Melinda), Jared (Jada), and Bart; grandpa Dennis and grandma Dar; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunties, uncles, and other relatives.

 

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Schaefer-Shipman with an interfaith service to follow at 6:00 pm at the Tulalip Gym. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 10:00 am at Tulalip Gym with burial to follow at Mission Beach Cemetery.

March 31, 1928 – August 18, 2016 Mamie “Mae” Harriett Williams, 88, of Tulalip, Wash. went to be with her husband, George S. Williams Sr. on August 18, 2016.

Mae was born March 31, 1928 in Frazer, Montana. She was an avid gardener, especially enjoying her dahlias. She was known for her smoked salmon.

She is survived by her three children, Carol and her husband, Dan Hunter; Valerie Williams, and Roger Williams Sr.; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, George S. Williams Sr.; brothers, Larry Brown and Russell Martin; sister, Kathleen Martin; son, George S. Williams Jr.; and daughter, Georgia Mae Williams.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at Schaefer-Shipman. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at St. Anne’s Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Mission Beach Cemetery.

April 20, 1996 – August 1, 2016 Dontae Wayne Jones, a proud member of the Tulalip Tribes, was born to Alpheus Jones Jr. and Ami Pablo on April 20, 1996. He went to be with the Lord on August 1, 2016. Before graduating from Heritage High School, he enjoyed playing basketball, where they were all district champs and went on to state tournament in Spokane, Wash. He also played varsity football and softball with his schoolmates. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, he loved his Seahawks, traveling and playing video games. Dontae was a very respectful young man and you cannot forget his contagious smile. He leaves behind his father, Alpheus Jr. (Dana); mother, Ami (Charles); foster mother, Michelle Hamilton; foster brother, Keanu Hamilton; foster sister, Kayla Hamilton; grandparents, Alpheus Jones Sr. (Mildred); Cheryl Tovar (Dan); Lori Parks; Gary Varner (Mari); and great grandmother, Leota Pablo; siblings: Alpheus Jones III, Antoinette The-Boy Jones, Roselynn The-Boy Jones, Kia Pablo, Desirae Jablonski-Jones, Deachae Jones, Reylynne Jones and Kian Jones; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; as well as numerous friends. He was preceded in death exactly one month to the day after his Papa Eddie Pablo Sr. His loving hugs will be truly missed by many. March 12, 1983 – July 15, 2016 Angelina Marie Hillaire was born to Susan M. Hillaire and James R. Hillaire Jr on March 12, 1983. Angelina grew to be an accomplished traditional dancer, as our family followed the Pow-Wow Trail. Angelina also became the Pow-Wow Princess two consecutive years for the Kla-How-Ya days Pow-Wow. She loved to spend time and recreate with her friends and family. She loved her grandparents and loved visiting them also. Angelina was taken from us on the morning of July 15, 2016. Way too soon we all say, but it has come to pass. She is survived by her spouse, Jason O’Day; children, Thomas Williams, Kiersten Williams, Andrew (Bubbie) Comenote, Anela Hillaire, Alamea Comenote, Kayleena Comenote, and Jason David Lee James O’Day; parents, Susan M. Hillaire and Jim R. Hillaire JR.; grandparents maternal, Dolores V. William (Bill) Myers was born in Everett, Wash. to Richard and Ruth Myers on August 25, 1959, On July 12, 2016, his father and grandparents called him home. He was a proud member of the Blackfeet Nation in Montana where he enjoyed visiting family. As a teenager he left every spring from Everett, with his brother and family by boat and fished the summer in Southeast Alaska including Ketchikan, Wrangel, Petersburg and Canada. He was preceded in death by his Stewart grandparents and Myers grandparents. Some of his favorite things were camping, fishing, working on the boats, just being by the water, also loved family time. On the weekends Billy and Sookie loved to go to yard sales. He is survived by his mother, Ruth; wife, Sookie; sons, Devon and Brandon; Antina (David) grandchildren, Kaylee, little Devon, Jayden, Monet, Mekyla, and Marcell; sisters, Diane (Gary), Barbara (Daniel); brothers, Richard (Brenda), Robert (Sylvia); special friends, Vern and Randy; special nephew, Jacob; father-in-law, David (Cherol); mother-in-law, Kathy Williams; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in both Washington and Montana.
