February 10, 1948 – July 19, 2018 Danny Lee Hunter, 70, went with the Lord peacefully at the Hospice Care Center in Everett, WA on July 19, 2018. He was born on February 10, 1948 to George Lee Hunter and Bessie Marie Hunter in Bremerton, WA. He lived with his wife, Carol Hunter, of 36 years; and their dogs, Dottie and Chico. He was instrumental in developing their property and building their home. He worked several years at the Maltby mill as a laborer, a mechanic, carpenter and landscaper. He was a creative artist who loved painting and also enjoyed rock and roll music. He also would spend many hours on the water fishing for bass and crappie. He was survived by his wife, Carol; brother, Randy Hunter; stepson, Bob Jackson; and grandson, Jacob Jackson. Dan was preceded in death by both parents; seven siblings; stepson, Tony Jackson; stepdaughter, Nadine Jones Robinson (Kenneth Robinson); and stepgranddaughter, Katia Jones. An Interfaith Service will held Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Schaefer-Shipman. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tulalip Gym with burial to follow at Mission Beach Cemetery.

Diana Lynn Hunt was born on September 8, 1946 in Chicago, IL, and passed away on June 20, 2018 with family and her dogs at her side.

Her early life was marked by struggle and hardship, which instilled in her a strong work ethic. She lived in numerous places across the country, including Reno, San Francisco, and Sedro-Wooley. Intensely proud and private, Diana was enigmatic. She was known by many, yet by few.

Much of her career was spent in the gaming industry, including a stint at Harrah’s Casino in Reno, NV. Upon moving to Everett, she began working for the Tulalip Resort Casino, ultimately staying there for almost twenty years. Affectionately known as “Big Red”, she was the small and fierce Assistant Pit Manager until her retirement several years ago.

A lover of animals, Lord of the Rings, and opera, Diana also read widely, including many sci-fi and mystery novels.

Though predeceased by her son, Michael Yancey, and great-grandson Joseph Michaels, Diana is survived by her husband, John, her daughters Carmen (Steve) Michaels, Michelle (Steve Harris) Rick, and Joanna (Jen Ham) Hunt, as well as eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Edward Lil George Sneatlum, 44 of Auburn, died June 6, 2018 in Everett, WA.  He was born May 15, 1974 to Charles Ronald Sneatlum & Janet D. Patrick in Everett.  Edward attended school in Tulalip, WA & Chemawa School in Salem, OR.  After school he started in the gaming business in Tulalip & continued in Muckleshoot.  He was a general laborer.  Edward enjoyed stick games, fishing, hunting, playing pool, gambling and going to concerts.  He was a member of Qua-Qua Amus Long House since 1990.  He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Sneatlum of Auburn; step-daughters, Sonya Williams of Auburn, 3 grandchildren, Kelsey, Kimberly & Elizabeth all of Auburn.  He is also survived by his mother, Janet Patrick of Tulalip; step-daughter, Alondra Velador; brothers, Charles Sneatlum & Timothy Jones both of Tulalip, numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, & nephews.  Edward was preceded in death by his father, Charles Sneatlum, Jr., grandfather, Charles A. Tina Louise Pacheco, 56, of Tulalip, WA, left to be with her parents on June 2, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hirontimus and Magdalen Monger in 1992. She also was preceded by her brothers, Joey Pacheco and Daryle Pacheco. She married Scott Danielak in 1996. She helped to mother her step-children: Jesse, Jana, and Kaitlyn. She had one son, Damon Hatch. She is survived by her life partner and best friend, Tia Ward. She leaves behind her siblings: Anita (Randy) Rodgers, Lucinda Cladoosby, Charles Vassar, Robert (Lisa) Monger, Rose (Kevin) Webb, and Mark Monger. She also had many nieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved very much. She graduated from Chemawa Indian School. She loved to travel and Hawaii was her favorite destination. She was a professional photographer and took thousands of pictures of family, friends, graduations, weddings, and funerals. She owned a business called Just Your Style. She was a minister to all she came to know. She was the first to show up when there was a death in the family of a close friend or tribal member. Many stories are told of when she helped in very loving ways. Her final occupation was as a Safety Coordinator. She trained others about first aid and safety. She also worked to help others be prepared for any emergency. She always had what anyone needed in her car. We are all left better because she was part of our lives. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Schaefer-Shipman with an Interfaith service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at the Tulalip Gym. Bonnie Jean Hynes , 58, of Lynnwood, WA, peacefully passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018, after a courageous fight with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She is survived by her mother, Audrey Hynes, sisters: Johanna Van Scoy, Lora Seaward, Debbie Hynes and long-time companion of 30 years, Ralph McIntosh. Bonnie enjoyed all things Bingo, Bowling, Disney and Craft related. She made many friends participating in events at several Senior Centers around Snohomish County and on the Tulalip Reservation. Bonnie was a beading master and could whip up a bracelet for anyone in any theme after chatting with you for just a few minutes. Bonnie loved children and children loved Bonnie. Her nieces and nephew were a light in her life and she was especially thrilled to have recently become a Great Aunt. Bonnie always had a kind word and a smile for everyone she encountered and will be missed by all who knew her. James Douglas “JD” Fryberg, 29, went peacefully in his sleep to be with our Lord on May 11, 2018, in Walla Walla, WA. JD was born December 7, 1988 in Everett, WA, to Gina Harrison and Dean Fryberg Jr. He was a loving, caring and adventurous soul. He grew up in Tulalip, Washington constantly surrounded by his family and friends. He had two children whom he loved and cherished very much, Tarynn Fryberg and Autumn Fryberg. He was so proud of his children. Throughout recent years, JD connected with his Native culture and became a grass dancer. He loved the Powwows he was able to participate in and danced with heart. JD also gained a passion for art that included drawing and beading. He was an amazing artist and made beautiful pieces for his family. No matter what JD was going through, he would make sure everyone else was doing ok. He constantly provided encouragement and support to family and friends to follow the right path and make a good life. JD always wanted everyone to know how much he loved them. sta-gwa-letsa #1 Rose Margie Kempf-Harvey was born on June 4, 1944, in Darrington, WA, and passed away May 3, 2018, in Everett, WA. She was born to Jackson and Jessie Harvey and was the youngest of seven children. Rose helped the Sauk-Suiattle Tribe get federally recognized and was involved in initiating the ICW Act. She was a fisherwoman and was the first one to fish on the Sauk River. She loved the Seahawks, Mariners, picking berries, canning, and traveling to Hawaii. Rose also had her own Fry Bread stand, “Rosie’s Fry Bread and Indian Tacos.” Rose was also head cook for different spiritual ceremonies. She leaves behind her children, Lila Pierce, Donald Kempf Jr., Edward Kempf, Marvin Kempf, and Angie Thurbush, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Kempf Sr.; mother, Jessie T. Harvey, father, Jackson Harvey; brother, Paul Harvey; as well as Sally Moses, Violet Napoleon, Helen Pierce, Mary Jack, Jasper Harvey, Brandon Kempf, and Violet Pierce. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home. Interfaith services will be at 6 p.m. that same evening at the Tulalip Gym. Helen Lucille Fenrich “Woman Warrior”, 66 of Tulalip, WA, went to be with her creator on January 31, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born March 29, 1951 in Everett, Washington to Elliott and Arlene Brown. She worked for the Tulalip Tribes for over 45 years in many positions advocating for our children, treaty rights, and overall best interest of all Tribal people. Her expertise as a Policy Analyst Liaison taught many who worked with her to be a fierce advocate never giving up on their battles to protect the children. She worked with three governors, Gregoire, Locke, and Inslee earning their respect. Helen’s boys, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews always came 1st! Her goal was to keep her family together, for them to be successful, and have a good life. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Alan; eight boys, Vincent Hatch, Tony Hatch, Alan Fenrich Jr., Austin Brown, Kedryn Hatch, Danny Fenrich, Tayler Hatch, and Jesse Hatch; four siblings, Carol Davis, Wayne Brown, Richard Brown, Elliot Brown Jr., three aunties, Anita “Keeta” Sheldon, Maxine Williams and Lorraine Hatch; and numerous grandchildren. She was preceded in death by numerous family members. A visitation will be held Monday, February 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Schaefer-Shipman with an Interfaith service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at the Tulalip Gym. Joseph “JoJo” Duane Dias, 68 of Tulalip, WA, went to be with his creator on January 17, 2018. He is now with his wife, Noma Dias; his son, Joseph Jr., and his other siblings. He was born September 2, 1949 in Tacoma, WA, where he grew up and graduated from high school. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a commercial fisherman. JoJo was the eldest of the family and the rock that held them together. JoJo is survived by his daughter, Tanya (Jeff) Tompkins; siblings, Bobby Dias, Bruce Dias, Cat Berrey, and Debbie Habitch; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home with an Interfaith Service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at the Tulalip Gym.
